Friday imams in Iran's Ardabil Province spoke about the 4 November rally to mark the 30th anniversary of the US embassy takeover and condemned US policy in the region in their sermons on 6 November. They also called on the government and parliament to cooperate on the bill aimed at making subsidies targeted, provincial Sabalan TV reported on 6 November.
The representative of Iran's supreme leader in the province and Friday imam of Ardabil, Hojjat ol-Eslam val Moslemin Ameli, said that the enemy is currently trying to weaken the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran. "After the presidential elections, all enemies' plots were foiled with the farsightedness of the supreme leader, and now they are trying to weaken the leadership by spreading lies in the media," he said.
Ameli criticized US President Barack Obama's statement that Iran should look either to the past or to the future. "We also want to look to the future, but how can we forget the killings, bloodshed and violations of the rights of the Iranian people if you still have not apologized and have frozen the assets of this nation?" Sabalan TV quoted Ameli as saying.
The Friday imam of Parsabad, Hojjat ol-Eslam Alavi, noted the high turnout in the 4 November rally to mark the 30th anniversary of the US embassy takeover. He said that Western plots against Iran and the Islamic system will remain futile.
The Friday imam of Nir, Hojjat ol-Eslam Moqaddasi, noted the bill aimed at making subsidies targeted. If this bill is implemented correctly, it will be have a great effect on the needy strata, provincial TV quoted him as saying.
The Friday imam of Bilehsavar, Hojjat ol-Eslam Qiyasi, also noted the parliamentary debates on the bill aimed at making subsidies targeted. He called for cooperation between the parliament and the government in this regard.
The interim Friday imam of Ja'farabad, Hojjat ol-Eslam Zeynali, condemned US and Israeli "plots" against Iran, saying that victory for Muslims lies in allegiance to the supreme leader, provincial TV reported.
