[Report by reporter Jiang Guocheng: "Ministry of Commerce Decides to Launch Anti-Dumping and Anti-Subsidy Probe Into Some Automobiles Imported From the United States"]
Beijing, 6 Nov (Xinhua) -The Ministry of Commerce on 6 November announced a decision to, effectively immediately, launch anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations into US-made imported sedans and off-road vehicles with engine displacements of 2.0 litres and above.
An official in charge of the Ministry's Fair Trade for Imports and Exports Bureau said: The domestic automobile industry recently filed an application for anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations of the aforesaid US-made imported cars. In accordance with the PRC Anti-Dumping Regulations and PRC Anti-Subsidy Regulations, the Ministry of Commerce conscientiously reviewed the application and deemed that the application had met the conditions for probe. Therefore, the Ministry has decided to launch the probe effectively 6 November.
The official said: In the process of investigations, China's trade relief investigation organization has always strictly abided by the Chinese laws and WTO rules; adhered to the principle of being fair, reasonable, lawful, and transparent in the procedures; and respected the rights of parties in the conflict of interests in making the just and reasonable ruling on this case in accorance with the laws and facts, thereby safeguarding the order of fair trade.
